Request for a Congressional hearing concerning accountability of the home building industry.

Consumer Reports Magazine stated that 15% of new homes have at least two serious defects; at least 150,000 new homes every year. Many serious defects can be quickly hidden under concrete or siding, unobservable even by professional home inspectors until the damage shows up.

KB Sues it's Customers for speaking up against their KB Homes That Suck! In addition to twice taking the rare step of suing customers, KB has threatened to publicize two adversaries' criminal records. It has snapped pictures of protesters and their car license plates. KB has also tangled with the Army Corps of Engineers over the safety of a KB development in Arlington, Texas, built on the site of a former bombing range. [YouTube Video]

In 1979 KB Home was required by federal trade commission decree to make prompt response to warranty complaints. That same decree, and a 1991 federal court order, prohibits KB Home from compelling homeowners to binding arbitration.

The recent settlement of the class-action suit in Texas effectively declared that KB Home and its subsidiaries binding arbitration clauses are invalid, and that homeowners can now sue KB Home in a court of law rather than being forced into binding arbitration over construction defects.

KB Home Sucks! One of KB Home's workers/employee/contractor had a real emergency, He took a break and died after his break. At this time it is unknown why he died. The medical examiner won't have it done for about 2 more months to see if he died from drugs or another issue. The guy who died, his girl friend told “KB Home disaster” that he was drinking and doing coke the night before. The KB Homeowner "did the right thing" and tried to "Resuscitate" him but he died. One night a vigil of his friends shows up and drank beer on the lawn. See the problems with this Lemon! Will KB Home "do the right thing?" with this homeowner? I'm sure they won't do anything for the family of the deceased!

The KB Home-provided documents show that the developer (aka KB) did not test for heavy metals in Runkle Canyon’s soil or water other than on a small patch of asphalt. Not included in the documents, but provided herein, are the results of limited tests for heavy metals conducted by the Rangers and the city of Simi Valley which show high levels of arsenic, nickel, vanadium, cadmium, chromium and lead.
